Malcolm Spittle is the Planning Policy Manager at North Yorkshire County Council.
A chartered town planner, he has worked in the Yorkshire and Humber region for over 38 years, mostly with the County Council. His background is in strategic planning, with a particular interest in housing and settlement issues.
He is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic land use policies in relation to land use planning, sustainable development and major environmental activity. More recently he has been responsible for the Council’s role in regional planning and its Affordable Housing Programme, which uses the council tax on second homes to fund housing schemes for local people across the county.
