Professional Summary
Matt is responsible for the Muse Development’s activities throughout the north of England. He has considerable experience of commercial and mixed-use development and has played a principal role on many of the company’s major projects. He is also on the Board of English Cities Fund, a £100 million pound mixed use regeneration vehicle owned by Muse, Legal & General and English Partnerships.
Employment History
Matt joined AMEC Developments in 1990 as Senior Development Surveyor, was promoted to Development Director (North West) in 1995 and joined the board in 2001. He was appointed joint managing director in December 2006 and retained this position when the company became Muse Developments in July 2007.
Portfolio
He is responsible for a forward development portfolio of 20 million sq ft with an end value of circa £4bn, selection of key current projects include;
~ Manchester Victoria Station
Muse is preferred partner for the comprehensive redevelopment of Manchester Victoria Station. The site has potential for over 1 million sq ft of office, residential, retail and hotel space alongside station improvements and new public realm.
~ Talbot Gateway, Blackpool
A 1.3 million sq ft mixed use scheme with retail, commercial, community, residential and civic office uses, along with new town centre parking, pedestrian linkages and extensive public realm.
~ Waterdale, Doncaster
This £300m landmark scheme will see a 60 acre site on the edge of Doncaster town centre transformed into a new civic and cultural quarter.
~ North Shore, Stockton on Tees
Working in partnership with Urban Splash, Muse Developments will deliver a 1.5 million sq ft mixed use development on the banks of the River Tees – bringing more than 2,500 new jobs to the area.
Personal Profile
~ Cheadle Royal Manchester - offers a unique and prestigious office location close to Manchester Airport and the motorway network. This unique 27 ha (67 acre) development was conceived in 1998 and is still recognised as ‘best in its class’
~ Lingley Mere Warrington
A 100 acre site accommodating around 1.2 million sq ft of new office and leisure development. The Park is being developed through a corporate joint venture with the land owner, United Utilities.
~ Logic Leeds
A 120 acre strategic employment site in the heart of the Aire Valley, adjacent to the new East Leeds Link Road and close to junction 45 of the M1, Logic Leeds will provide up to 1.6 million sq ft of space for B1, B2 and B8 uses.
~ Pall Mall, Liverpool (ECf)
Forming a new Central Business District for Liverpool, Pall Mall will comprise over 1.5 million sq ft of high quality commercial floor space, apartments, ancillary retail space, extensive new public realm and car parking.
~ Wakefield Westgate (ECf)
6 acres of fringe city centre land now developed for a mix of residential, galleries, bars, restaurants and other active uses within a ‘listed’ environment.
