Gareth Blacker is Director of the LDA's Olympic Legacy Development Team. Together with the Olympic Opportunity Team, forms the Olympic Legacy Division.
Gareth is responsible for the preparation and delivery of the Legacy Masterplan Framework for the Olympic Park Site and the long term development strategy.
In 2007 Gareth's team, the Olympic Land Team, successfully assembled and delivered the site for the 2012 Games and the regeneration legacy. This included one of the largest CPO’s in Europe. As well as acquiring the site, Gareth managed the relocation of businesses, residents and leisure facilities that were in occupancy on the Olympic site.
Gareth has been with the LDA since its inception in 2000. Prior to his current post, he was responsible for the LDA's land and property projects which included the redevelopment of the area around the new Wembley Stadium, the Royal Docks in east London and a number of other regeneration projects in the Thames Gateway.
Before joining the LDA, Gareth was the Senior Development Executive at English Partnerships responsible for the London region.
Gareth is a Chartered Surveyor.
