Andrew joined Experian Business Strategies in August 2001 after working as an Economist in the Bank of England’s Financial Stability Division. He is responsible for the management of the Regional Planning and Property Market Forecasting Services (RPS and PMFS) and also co-ordinates the work of our Macroeconomics team.
Major projects
• Co-ordination of the biannual RPS forecast and its four volumes of analysis.
• Town-level property forecasts and analysis.
• Management of the large RPS and PMFS client base.
• Regular presentation of Experian’s view of the regions, the UK and Europe.
• Production of the monthly macroeconomic forecast.
• Contributions to European Regional Service work.
• Recent projects include the Leeds’ Financial Services Report (Yorkshire Forward), Scottish Enterprise Property Model, Productivity Challenges for the UK and its Regions (SEEDA), Scottish Water Macroeconomic Report, European Property Outlook (PWC) and Scottish Futures papers.
Prior experience
• Research Assistant at the University of Liverpool, working on their macroeconomic model.
• Research Officer in the Centre for Economic Forecasting at the London Business School – involved research and forecasting using world (GEM) and UK models, including the co-ordination of the global outlook.
• UK Economist at the Royal Bank of Scotland with responsibility for the UK forecast – included briefings and presentations on the UK and its implications for financial services, plus regional and country risk analysis.
• US Economist in Financial Stability division of the Bank of England – research and surveillance work on the US economy and its possible implications for the financial stability of the UK banking sector.
