Julian Skelnik has been Vice President of the Port of Gdansk Authority SA Board of Directors and port Marketing Director since 2005. He graduated from the Gdansk University, where he earned a Master Degree in economics at the Faculty of Economics of Maritime Transport. He was previously working in the financial sector, yet he gained experience in the maritime trade.
Between 1980-1987 Julian Skelnik was an academic university teacher at the Gdansk University specializing in maritime and port economy. From 1990 up to 1992 he was the Director General of Economic Foundation of “Solidarity” in Gdansk. In 1992, he founded the Gdansk Pomerania Development Agency. Since 2006, he has been representing Port of Gdansk in the Baltic Ports Organization (BPO) and the European Sea Ports Organization (ESPO). On 7 September 2007, the General Assembly of the Baltic Ports Organization (BPO), appointed Julian Skelnik as new chairman of BPO.
