Dieter W Rebitzer is Professor of Finance and Investments in Real Estate at the Business Economics Environment University Nuertingen-Geislingen (BEEU) since 2002. Before joining the faculty he held different positions in strategic management and investment consultancies and as managing partner in real estate consulting businesses. Additionally, he serves as Head of the Research Institute of Housing and Environment (IWU). Rebitzer studied Economics, International Management, and Social Sciences at the University Erlangen-Nuremberg (M.Sc. Economics), the Georg-Simon-Ohm Business School (B.Sc.), as well as in the UK (LSE) and Japan (Sophia). 1995 he obtained his Ph.D. (Business Economics) at the University Erlangen-Nuremberg with the dissertation titled ”International Management Centres – World Cities in the System of the Global Economy”. Professor Rebitzer has written and edited several publications such as the handbook “Real Estate Private Equity”. He is on the Editorial Boards of the Europe Real Estate and Real Estate Scenarios. Besides he is contributing member of various real estate and market networks such as the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the European Real Estate Society (ERES), or the Corporate Real Estate Management Network (cre.net). He has also consulted in governmental programmes or NGO´s. His current research focus is on real estate markets and policy in transition economies, financing vehicles and frameworks, real estate investment and development, and energy efficiency of buildings.
